ADDENDUM: INVITATION TO TENDER

The Corporate Affairs Commission wishes to draw the attention of the general public to the procurement notice published in the Daily Trust Newspaper dated Wednesday, August 10, 2022, page 15, and The Nation newspaper dated Wednesday, August 10, 2022, page 23.

Please note that the amendment listed below aims to align the procurement notice published in the above-mentioned newspapers with that published in the Federal Tenders Journal dated Monday, August 8-Sunday, August 21, 2022, on page 13. The amendment is as follows;

NOTICE OF EXTENSION OF THE REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATION SUBMISSION DEADLINE– COMPETITIVE TENDER FOR SELECTION OF BIDDERS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF NIGERIA’S DELINEATED BITUMEN BLOCKS

1. BACKGROUND
The Federal Government of Nigeria (“FGN” or the “Government”), in its determination to diversify the economy, has identified the mining sector as one of the strategic sectors for rapid growth and development. The Ministry of Mines and Steel Development (MMSD) has embarked on the development of the country’s bitumen resources stretching from Lagos through Ogun and Ondo to Edo State the Nigerian bitumen belt- which lies on the onshore part of the Dahomey Basin in the southwestern part of the country. The belt stretches over an area of at least 120 km by 4km making it one of the most abundantly deposited mineral resources of huge economic potential in the country. The Nigerian bitumen belt is reportedly the second largest of such deposits in the world with a reserve ranging from 13 to 42 billion barrels estimated at different times. The area has been divided into three (3) main blocks A, B and C further partitioned into 12, 2 and 18 sub-blocks respectively, for ease of transaction management by MMSD.
