INVITATION TO BID NOTICE

The INTERNATIONAL RESCUE COMMITTEE hereinafter referred as “the IRC” is a non-profit, humanitarian agency that provides relief, rehabilitation, protection, resettlement services, and advocacy for refugees, displaced persons and victims of Depression and violent conflict. The IRC has been operating in Nigeria in October 2012 in response to a widespread flood disaster. IRC ‘s emergency response team, with local partner CISCOPE (civil society coalition for poverty eradication), implemented a project to support livelihoods and improve WASH in kogi state from February to May 2013. This was followed by a 3-month nutrition and food security program in the same location from October 2013 to January 2014. IRC has been supporting programming in Adamawa state since early 2014 and expanded into Borno and Yobe states. The current projects supports WASH, Nutrition, Health, Protection, Education, Economic Recovery and Development concerns among conflict-affected persons in north-eastern Nigeria.

CONSTRUCTION OF AGGREGATION AND COTTAGE PROCESSING CENTERS IN KANO STATE, NIGERIA

1. This Request for Bid follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for the Agra- Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS) Project which appeared in “Development Business issue no. WB 3108-756/09 and “This Day” Newspaper of September 3, 2019.

2.  The Kano State Government through the Federal Government of Nigeria has received a credit from the International Development Association (herein referred to as IDA) towards the cost of Agro- Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS) Project, and it Intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to eligible payments under the contracts for Construction of Aggregation and Cottage Processing Centers in Kano State.

3.  The Kano State Agra-Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS) Project is now inviting sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the Construction of Aggregation and Cottage Processing Centers in Kano State as described below:

4.   Bidding will be conducted through the Request for Bids (RFB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Participatory Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits and is open to all bidders from eligible Source Countries as defined In the Guidelines.

5.     Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding document at the Kano State Agro- Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS) Project at the address given below from 10:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday.
